Lloyd’s of London on Monday said CEO John Neal is undergoing treatment in a hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a bike accident over the weekend.
Lloyd’s will be led by Burkhard Keese, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, and Chief of Markets Patrick Tiernan as Mr. Neal recovers, Lloyd’s said in a statement.
Mr. Neal is expected to make a full recovery after being involved in a collision with a car while riding his bike Saturday, Lloyd’s said.
Mr. Keese and Mr. Tiernan, both executive directors, will lead the market with support from Lloyd’s wider executive committee and oversight from Lloyd’s Chairman Bruce Carnegie Brown, according to the statement.
Mr. Neal was appointed CEO of Lloyd’s in 2018.
