RIMS community service project supports homeless

The community service project at the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc.’s Riskworld annual conference will support homeless families in San Francisco.

The project, sponsored by Chubb Ltd. unit ESIS, will involve conference participants assembling hygiene kits and snack packs for the Hamilton Families, a nonprofit that finds temporary and permanent housing for the city’s homeless.

According to the latest figures from the San Francisco city government, there were more than 8,000 homeless people in the city in 2019.

Hamilton Families, established in 1985, helps about 800 families a year.

Riskworld attendees can participate in the initiative, which is the 14th annual RIMS community service project, on Monday and Tuesday at the Moscone Center at a station set up outside the RIMS Marketplace.
