mea Platform, a company specialising in AI solutions for the insurance industry, has announced the launch of mea Operations, a suite of AI products tailored to improve operational efficiency in re/insurance.
Building on its experience helping clients enhance underwriting performance across $200 billion in gross written premiums in more than 20 countries, mea Platform is extending its technology to support broader industry workflows.
Operating costs represent a significant portion of expenses for insurers and brokers, consuming up to 14 points of every combined ratio for carriers and nearly half of total expenses for brokers. mea Operations is designed to reduce these costs by up to 50 percent, helping organisations improve profitability and operational performance.
The new suite expands upon mea Platform’s existing Intelligent Underwriting products, which already allow underwriters to handle more business without additional effort.
Developed in response to client demand, mea Operations can optimise workflows for both re/insurance companies and brokers, covering tasks from pre-bind underwriting and claims processing to post-bind policy issuance, settlements, and finance operations.
mea Operations includes solutions for underwriting, claims, finance, and broking processes. For underwriting, the suite automates tasks such as intake, triage, rating, quote-to-bind processes, endorsements, and renewals, allowing underwriters to focus on risk assessment and growth.
For claims, the system streamlines all steps from first notice to settlement, reducing cycle times and improving customer experience. The finance component automates premium booking, commissions, reinsurance entries, and reconciliations, supporting faster closes and better control. For broking, mea Operations helps manage enquiries, exposure modelling, market submissions, and digital placement, improving response times and conversion rates.
All of mea Operations runs on mea Platform’s Insurance Knowledge Graph, a modular infrastructure that integrates with both mea’s AI and public large language models. This allows clients to maintain their existing tools while benefiting from a unified layer of insurance intelligence that delivers measurable operational improvements.
“mea Operations delivers the ability to finally use AI products to re-engineer how re/insurance carriers and brokers think about their operating costs and unlock an entirely new form of value creation,” added Martin Henley, CEO of mea Platform.
“We’ve already seen the impact with our clients, and we know they want to do more with what we’ve built. Expanding into all aspects of industry workflows has been our planned next step and we’re excited to see the results. No other tool offers this level of insurance knowledge or the ability to automate nearly any manual process.”
“The ultimate benefit of this industry AI transformation is to the consumer and lower cost insurance products,” added Mike McGavick, Non-Executive Board Chairman of mea Platform. “But to make that happen, the industry must finally harness the data locked inside systems, and that’s exactly what mea enables. What Martin and the team are launching with mea Operations is how the promise of AI becomes real for our industry.”
Major insurers such as The Hartford, Markel, AXIS, CNA, and SCOR are already leveraging mea Platform to enhance their operations. Early users note quicker decision-making, shorter processing times, and improved performance metrics that contribute directly to profitability.
According to mea Platform, selecting the right AI partner is a significant challenge for insurers. Many solutions on the market require costly system changes, extended AI training periods with uncertain outcomes, or complex integration efforts.
mea Platform’s AI is purpose-built for the insurance industry, with pre-trained agents designed to integrate into clients’ existing workflows. This approach allows organisations to generate value immediately without replacing current systems or undertaking extensive AI implementation projects.
