Aviva appoints Richard Taylor as Head of Cyber & Tech E&O

British insurer Aviva has announced the appointment of Richard Taylor as Head of Cyber & Tech E&O.

for a consideration of £249 million in July 2024, Taylor takes on a wider role within the Aviva Group, leading all Cyber and Tech E&O operations.

He brings more than 15 years of insurance industry experience, having worked across global underwriting teams focused on traditional and emerging Cyber and Technology E&O risk products in sectors including Financial Lines, Healthcare, Retail, Technology Services, and Energy.

Taylor joined Probitas in April 2022, where he most recently served as Head of Cyber and Technology.

Prior to that, he was a Senior Cyber Underwriter at Munich Re, underwriting cyber risks for first- and third-party damages across multiple industries, including Energy, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, Finance, and IT/Technology Services. During his tenure, he also helped launch the Munich Re Syndicate Cyber team in 2016.
