Newfront hires from Marsh unit

Newfront Insurance Inc. said Thursday it had hired former Marsh McLennan Agency principal Jeff Simpson as a senior vice president.
San Diego-based Mr. Simpson, who joined the Marsh LLC unit through its 2014 purchase of Barney & Barney LLC, will focus on businesses in the technology, life science, nonprofit and manufacturing sectors, a Newfront statement said.
San Francisco-based Newfront was founded in 2017 as an insurtech brokerage. It substantially increased its commercial property/casualty business last year through the purchase of ABD Insurance and Financial Services Inc.
