Hannover Re welcomes SCOR’s Maguire as Global Head of L&H Traditional Business

Hannover Re has announced the appointment of Gavin Maguire as Global Head of the reinsurer’s newly established division, L&H Traditional Business.

Maguire offers valuable strategic insight and a collaborative approach, drawing on his deep expertise in business development, pricing, underwriting, data analytics, claims, and technical accounting, underpinned by a strong actuarial background.

“We’re glad to have him on board as we continue to evolve our strong and strategically important traditional protection business, a Hannover Re spokesperson stated.

The executive is joining the global reinsurer following his tenure at SCOR, where he served for almost a decade.

Maguire held a number of roles during his time at SCOR, including his most recent position as Head of UK & Ireland – SCOR L&H. Other roles include Deputy Head of UK & Ireland. Prior to that he served as Head of Innovation at SCOR Global Life – UK & Ireland, Market Actuary and as Senior pricing Actuary before that.

He had joined SCOR following his seven-year tenure at Irish Life, where he joined as a Trainee Actuary – Pricing and Product Development, and was later appointed Actuarial Manager – Pricing and Product Development.
