Kevin Johnson named CUO for Munich Re Specialty, North America

Munich Re Specialty – North America, part of global reinsurer Munich Re Group’s insurance operations, has announced the appointment of Kevin Johnson as its Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).
In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for driving underwriting excellence, strengthening portfolio performance, and contributing to the strategic growth of the company’s specialty lines.
This appointment, Munich Re Specialty stated, reflects both Johnson’s extensive expertise and proven leadership within the organisation.
Johnson has been with Munich Re for over 15 years, having joined Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. in 2009 as part of the firm’s Graduate Underwriting Program.
He then progressed to Insurance Programs Underwriter and Chief of Staff to the CEO before becoming Head of Insurance Programs Underwriting – Brokers & Banks.
In 2019 he was appointed President, Insurance Programs for Munich Re Specialty – North America, a role he held for over five years before being appointed to his new role.
