RenRe makes senior promotions across U.S. & underwriting teams

RenaissanceRe has announced a series of senior promotions across its U.S. operations and global underwriting teams.

RJ Shea has been named President of Renaissance Reinsurance U.S. Inc., following a two-year tenure as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Credit.

In his new role, Shea will reportedly lead U.S. underwriting operations, foster relationships with clients and brokers, and oversee deal execution.

He brings nearly a decade of experience at RenaissanceRe, having previously held roles at Morgan Stanley.

Meanwhile, Adriana Nivia has been promoted to Managing Director, North America, where she will oversee critical operating activities across the region.

Nivia is an experienced executive, having worked at RenaissanceRe for over 20 years.

At the same time, Jim Riley has been appointed Global Head of Casualty, charged with setting and executing the firm’s casualty strategy across both reinsurance and insurance.

Riley has been with RenaissanceRe for more than 11 years, most recently serving as SVP, Head of Casualty – Bermuda, and Global Head of Cyber.

Finally, Mehdi Benleulmi is set to take on the role of Global Head of Credit, responsible for steering the global credit strategy.

Benleulmi previously served as Head of Credit – Europe and brings deep expertise to his expanded role.
