Old Republic Specialty hires Liberty Mutual’s Daniela James as Chief Reinsurance Officer

Old Republic Specialty Insurance Group, the largest business segment of Old Republic International Corporation and which specialises in the property and casualty market, has appointed Daniela James as Senior Vice President, Chief Reinsurance Officer.

James joins the company after more than 19 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she most recently served as Director of Global P&C Reinsurance for more than seven years.

During her time with Liberty Mutual, James held numerous roles, including as Director of Reinsurance Standards, Ceded Re, Director of Ceded Reinsurance, Assistant Director – Global Reinsurance Strategy Group, Supervising Accountant – Ceded Treaty Accounting, and other finance-based roles at the firm.

In her new role with Old Republic Specialty Insurance, James will lead the ceded reinsurance team and oversee reinsurance accounting operations.

“We look forward to the valuable expertise and leadership she will contribute to the team,” said the company.
