CRC Group to acquire Atrium from Stone Point Capital

CRC Group has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Atrium Underwriting Group, an underwriting business at Lloyd’s that manages Syndicate 609, from investment funds managed by Stone Point Capital LLC and other investors.

Atrium, which writes specialty insurance and reinsurance across property, casualty, and specialty business groups, will reportedly retain its brand name and independence under the leadership of its current management team within the CRC Group.

The transaction is expected to close in Q3 of 2025, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

In related news, earlier this year, CRC Group acquired ARC Excess & Surplus, LLC, one of the US’s largest specialty wholesale insurance distributors, adding significant scale and capabilities to its growing platform.
