MS Amlin names AXA XL’s Nicola Harris as Head of Natural Resources

Lloyd’s global insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin has appointed Nicola Harris as Head of Natural Resources, effective August 2025, reporting to Martin Burke, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), MS Amlin.

The appointment reinforces the business’s commitment to the line of business and its associated customers.

In her new role, Harris will lead the team that supports a diverse range of clients throughout the entire energy chain.

The Natural Resources account has a significant portfolio, including upstream, midstream, and downstream, as well as a growing renewables account.

Most recently, Harris spent five years as Head of Energy for AXA XL’s UK & Lloyd’s business. Prior to this, she held other roles at AXA XL, including Chief of Staff to the Global Energy CUO and Head of Energy for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Before AXA XL, Harris spent four years as the Head of Energy and Marine at Allianz in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

She has also previously spent eight years at Marsh as the Head of Power and Energy, building the company’s African energy proposition.
