Diego Cervantes-Knox appointed Group COO at Ocean Re

Diego Cervantes-Knox is joining Ocean Re, a Barbados-headquartered reinsurer, as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective this September.
In his new role, Cervantes-Knox will focus on accelerating growth, scaling operations, and modernizing infrastructure by integrating capital, operations, and innovation within the reinsurer.
The executive brings a wealth of experience to Ocean Re, joining the company after seven years at PwC, where he most recently served as Partner – Insurance, Asset and Wealth Management.
During this time, he led some of the sector’s largest and most complex transformations within the financial sector, working with listed groups, PE portfolios, and global financial institutions.
His work encompassed a number of projects, from modernising CFO/COO infrastructure and scaling shared services to deploying digital platforms and navigating IFRS and Solvency II.
Before his time at PwC, Cervantes-Knox served as Director, Performance Improvement, Advisory Services at EY, leading strategic advisory and transformation programmes for insurance and asset management clients.
His career also includes roles at RSA, Hiscox and Chubb.
