Aon launches new Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program for clients

Aon has launched its Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program (DCLP), a proprietary multi-line insurance facility created to help clients manage risk across every stage of data center development and operations.

According to Aon, the DCLP provides an integrated solution that unifies construction, cargo, cyber, and operational risk coverage within a single, coordinated program, enhancing capital efficiency, accelerating execution, and strengthening resilience across infrastructure projects.

Key features of the DCLP include up to $1.5 billion in coverage for Construction All Risks, Delay in Start-Up, and Operational Property Damage/Business Interruption.

The facility also provides up to $400 million in Construction Cyber Physical Damage coverage, which includes Construction Non-Damage Cyber, Operational Cyber, and Technology Errors & Omissions.

Third-party liability coverage is reportedly available up to $100 million, excluding U.S. exposures, and project cargo and transport insurance is covered up to $500 million.

“As the scale and criticality of digital infrastructure grow, clients need coordinated solutions that align insurance protection with operational performance and stakeholder expectations. DCLP is intended to help clients navigate today’s risk environment by consolidating coverage, surfacing insight earlier in the development cycle and providing the tools to mitigate loss before it escalates,” Aon explained.

James MacNeal, global industry specialty leader of construction and infrastructure for Aon, commented, “Today’s data centers are the backbone of the global economy.

“Our Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program empowers clients to make better decisions, moving faster and more confidently, with protection that evolves alongside strategic assets, from physical infrastructure to digital operations.”

Brian Hearst, managing director of construction for Aon, said, “Data centers are no longer just physical assets, they are platforms for innovation, connectivity and economic growth.

“DCLP reflects our commitment to helping clients shape better decisions, protect what matters most and build enduring infrastructure for a more digital world.”
