AXA XL, the property and casualty and specialty risk unit of global insurer AXA, has announced the promotion of Shaun Wilkinson to Head of International Casualty, Retail, UK & Lloyd’s.
In his new role, Wilkinson will lead AXA XL’s UK & Lloyd’s underwriting strategy for its Retail, International Casualty portfolio.
He will also head the Casualty Underwriting Unit, supporting profitable growth by developing existing and new client relationships as part of the new Risk Managed Underwriting segment in the UK & Lloyd’s business unit.
Wilkinson will report to Ben Kinsella, Head of Risk Managed, Retail, UK & Lloyd’s, who commented: “Shaun has successfully managed our Retail Casualty portfolio across our public and products liability, and our employers’ liability lines of business over the last three years.
“In his new role, he’ll be able to leverage his strong and long-standing client relationships as well as his previous experience as a casualty broker in the London market.”
The executive brings two decades of experience in the insurance market to AXA XL – 10 years of which were in underwriting and 10 years in broking.
Wilkinson has been working at AXA XL for five years, having started at the company as Senior Casualty Underwriter. He most recently served as UK Retail Casualty Underwriter Manager.
Prior to AXA XL, he worked as a Senior Underwriter, UK Casualty at MS Amlin, and as a Senior Liability Underwriter at AIG before that.
Wilkinson also held a number of roles during his ten-year tenure at Marsh, including as Client Adviser, Insurance Programme Manager and Senior Casualty Broker.
