Newline Group adds Malcolm Newman as a Non-Exec Director

Newline Group, a specialty insurance provider, has appointed Malcolm Newman as a new Non-Executive Director.
Newman is a re/insurance industry veteran with over four decades of experience, most recently serving as the Chairman of Tindall Riley & Co., before which he served as a Non-Executive Director.
His career started as a Trainee Chartered Accountant at PwC in 1980, after which Newman spent the next decade at CNA Reinsurance in various roles, Winterthur International as the Global Head of Finance, Converium as the Chief Financial Officer in London, and as a Director of Risk and Controls at XL Insurance.
Newman’s career also includes a two-decade stint at industry giant SCOR until July 2023, most recently as the Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Prior to this, he was the Managing Director (MD) at the Paris-London Hub and Chief Executive Officer of the combined Paris-London Hub.
From May 2008, Newman was the MD of the London Hub serving as SCOR’s representative in the United Kingdom for all corporate matters relating to the Group, encompassing SCOR SE and the two operational entities SCOR Global Life SE and SCOR Global P&C SE. Prior to this he was the CFO of London for SCOR.
Newman currently also serves as a Court Assistant for Worshipful Company of Insurers and as a Non-Executive Director for Core Technology Systems (UK) Limited.
Earlier in his career, he served as a Board Member for the London Market Group, a Member of the LMG Board, Chair of the LMG/HMT ILS task force, and Chair of the LMG/HMT/DExU Brexit task force.
Newman also served as the Chairman of the International Underwriting Association of London Ltd for over seven years until 2020.
