Chubb’s Sara Farrup joins AXIS as Head of Global Markets

As part of a previously planned leadership transition, insurer and reinsurer AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has appointed Sara Farrup (nee Mitchell) as Head of Global Markets, reporting to Vince Tizzio, President and Chief Executive Officer, AXIS.

She will be a part of the firm’s Executive Committee and succeeds Mark Gregory, who will continue to serve as a strategic advisor to the company through March.

Farrup is based in AXIS’ London office, and steps into her new role following a 13-year tenure at Chubb, holding a series of leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility.

Since 2021, she served as Chubb’s Divisional President of Continental Europe and MENA, responsible for Chubb’s property and casualty, accident and health, and consumer lines operations across 25 countries.

Previously, she served in managerial roles at insurers RSA and Allianz Insurance.

Tizzio commented on the appointment, “In Sara, we have appointed an outstanding leader to guide our Global Markets business into its next chapter. Sara brings extensive specialty knowledge and a rich understanding of international markets, an established track record for success, and strong values that align with our culture.
