The Hartford appoints Morris Tooker as Company President

Property and casualty (P&C) insurer The Hartford has announced the appointment of Morris Tooker as Company President, effective February 1, 2025.

In this new role, Tooker will oversee Personal Lines in addition to his current responsibilities, which include Small Commercial, Middle & Large Commercial, Global Specialty, Enterprise Sales & Distribution, and Risk Services. This alignment will bring all of the company’s property and casualty businesses under his leadership. Tooker will also be responsible for guiding several enterprise-wide initiatives.

Tooker will continue to report to Christopher Swift, Chairman and CEO of The Hartford.

Tooker brings over three decades of industry experience. He joined The Hartford in July 2015 as Chief Underwriting Officer and has since served in various key leadership roles, most recently as Head of Commercial Lines and Enterprise Sales & Distribution.

Prior to joining The Hartford, Tooker spent 23 years at General Re, holding a range of senior roles. Most recently, he served as President, where he was responsible for General Re’s direct Property Casualty business globally.
