White Bear Group expands into bloodstock underwriting with two key hires

White Bear Group, a specialist MGA trading platform, has expanded into the bloodstock insurance market with the addition of Tara Woodward as Bloodstock Underwriter and Madeline Long as Bloodstock Underwriting Assistant.

Woodward and Long bring a combined 35 years of experience to White Bear, specialising in the mortality of breeding and racing thoroughbreds, high-value sports and show horses, and fertility of new thoroughbred stallion prospects.

They join White Bear from Castel Specialty, where Woodward served as Head of Bloodstock.

Prior to Castel, Woodward, who has over two decades of experience in the insurance industry, worked at Novae Plc for more than 10 years.

She also served as an account executive at Lockton (previously Alexander Forbes) within the professional indemnity department.

The bloodstock unit will operate under a binding authority agreement backed by Lloyd’s capacity, including Blenheim Syndicate 5886. This follows an amicable departure from Ryan Specialty Group.

White Bear Managers Ltd now includes Bloodstock alongside its existing specialist MGA trading units in Energy Liability, Builders Risk, Management Liability, and Aviation.
