Richard Coyle becomes MD of parametric specialist Arbol Re/Insurance UK

Richard Coyle has joined global climate risk solutions platform Arbol as Managing Director of Arbol Re/Insurance UK.

Arbol specializes in parametric financial products, offering businesses a streamlined approach to managing climate risks.

The company launched its London-based Managing General Agent (MGA) back in November 2023 to service the international insurance market outside the United States.

In his new role, Coyle will work to build capacity and distribution from London and European markets to support the company’s global growth initiatives.

The executive, with almost two decades of industry experience, is joining Arbol from FloodFlash, Lloyd’s coverholder, specialising in flood risk, where he most recently served as Commercial Director.

While holding this role, Coyle was responsible for setting and executing the US sales and distribution strategy, which included identifying and securing major account opportunities both domestically and internationally.

This also involved ensuring sufficient capacity to handle both delegated authority contracts and business generated from the open market.

Before joining FloodFlash, Coyle was Head of Alternative Risk at Miller Insurance Services, a role he held for five years. He also served as Finance Business Partner at XL Catlin and was an Analyst at RSA.
