Arch Insurance International, a division of Bermuda-domiciled re/insurer Arch Capital Group, has promoted Elizabeth Thompson to Offshore Energy Underwriting Manager and appointed James Brown as a Senior Energy Advisor, effective immediately.
The pair will be based in London and report to Jake Gibbs, Head of Marine and Energy.
In the new role, Thompson will be based in London and manage the underwriting activities across Arch’s London Market offshore energy portfolio providing worldwide coverage across both the conventional and renewable sectors.
Most recently, Thompson was a Senior Offshore Energy Underwriter, after joining Arch in 2019 from Chaucer.
Brown is responsible for assisting the Offshore Energy underwriting team in assessing both conventional and emerging risks in the sector and supporting the development of solutions across the broader Energy portfolio to help clients manage the energy transition.
He brings over three decades of experience to the position, most recently working in a consultancy and advisory role with Kita. Before this, he was Head of Natural Resources at Chaucer.
Gibbs commented, “Elizabeth’s promotion is very well deserved. She is an outstanding underwriter and highly respected by both brokers and peers in the market.
“In her new role, she will be integral to driving our growth as we continue to enhance our relevance and service offering to our brokers in this rapidly evolving sector.
“We’re also very excited to have James join the team. His depth of technical expertise, experience and market insight will be extremely valuable as we look to bolster our value proposition and provide even greater support to our clients,” he added.
