SRG to acquire Ecclesia’s assets in Netherlands & Belgium

Specialist Risk Group (SRG) is set to acquire Ecclesia Group’s assets in the Netherlands & Belgium in a move that will reportedly see seven businesses and 700 new colleagues across the two countries join SRG.

As part of this partnership, Ecclesia Group, Germany’s largest insurance broker for companies and institutions, will join Warburg Pincus and Temasek as shareholders of SRG.

In addition, Ecclesia Group CEO, Jochen Körner, will join the SRG Board as a Non-Executive Director.

SRG and Ecclesia Group noted that this unique investment structure will allow both organisations to collaborate strategically while setting their sights on growth opportunities in Europe and beyond.

Warren Downey, Group CEO of SRG, commented, “This transformative partnership is a pivotal moment for SRG as we continue to expand our capabilities and reach. Welcoming 700 new colleagues across Europe doubles our headcount, marking a significant step in our international expansion and further enriching our specialist capabilities.

“We are delighted to welcome Ecclesia Group as a shareholder and Jochen Körner to the SRG Board as a Non-Executive Director. Jochen’s vast experience will undoubtedly provide valuable guidance and insight as we pursue our strategic goals.”

Jochen Körner, CEO at Ecclesia Group, said, “We are delighted to enter into this unique partnership with SRG, a business that shares our dedication to specialist expertise and client service.

“This partnership allows us to focus on strengthening our position in the German market while our international assets contribute to SRG’s international growth journey. Together, we are creating a powerful alliance to shape the future of specialist insurance.”
