Chubb names Stapleton CUO & Neu EVP, Financial Lines, Overseas General Insurance

Global property and casualty insurer Chubb has announced two key leadership appointments within its Overseas General Insurance (COG) business, Tim Stapleton as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and Jason Neu as Executive Vice President (EVP), Financial Lines.

As CUO of COG, a newly created role, Stapleton will be responsible for advancing the development and execution of underwriting operations for COG, focusing on enhancing underwriting standards, operations and audit strategy.

Stapleton, former Executive Vice President, Financial Lines, Overseas General Insurance, will report to Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group President, Overseas General Insurance.

Neu, Executive Vice President, Financial Lines for Westchester, Chubb’s North American wholesale subsidiary, is succeeding Stapleton as EVP, Financial Lines of COG.

In his new position, Neu will oversee Chubb’s international financial lines division, including directors’ and officers’ liability, financial institutions, and errors and omissions insurance.

“These appointments further strengthen our ability to meet clients’ needs with greater operational excellence,” said McNamee.

“Tim and Jason’s leadership in underwriting operations will provide greater visibility into our progress and ensure alignment with strategic objectives,” he added.

Stapleton has been with COG since he joined Chubb in 2015 as Product Head for Cyber & Technology Industry Practices.

Before Chubb, he gained experience in various leadership and underwriting positions at Zurich Insurance and American International Group.

Neu has held several positions at Chubb since joining the company in 2004. He began as a Financial Lines underwriter and later served as Senior Vice President and Financial Lines Manager for Chubb Small Commercial.

His experience also includes serving as National Financial Lines Manager for Australia & New Zealand, roles he held before Westchester.
