Sompo appoints Lily Claydon as Chief Risk Officer APAC

Sompo, a global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (P&C) re/insurance, has appointed Lily Claydon as Chief Risk Officer for Asia Pacific (APAC), effective March 3, 2025.
In this role, Claydon will lead risk management, governance, and analytics for APAC while also developing talent and capabilities across the region.
She will report to Emmanuel Brule, Chief Risk Officer at Sompo International Holdings, and Kenneth Reilly, CEO of Insurance, APAC. She will also join the APAC executive team in Singapore.
Brule expressed enthusiasm for Claydon’s appointment, stating, “We are very pleased to have Lily joining the Sompo Risk team. She has extensive industry and market knowledge which, combined with the strong relationships she has with our key stakeholders, makes her perfectly placed to define and execute Sompo’s strategic risk management priorities to support our important APAC region.”
Reilly added, “I am delighted to welcome Lily to our APAC leadership team. She brings 20 years of diverse experience across public and private risk practice and joins us at a pivotal time in our growth journey. I am confident that her breadth of experience will contribute to drive our risk management best practices and financial resilience across our entire APAC business.”
Claydon joins Sompo from AIG, where she was APAC Chief Risk Officer. She previously served as Group Head of Enterprise Risk Management at bolttech and held roles at FWD Insurance and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
