Andrew Tongue to lead IQUW’s Credit and Political Risks offering

Specialty and property re/insurer IQUW has strengthened its Credit and Political Risk team with the appointment of Andrew Tongue as Lead Underwriter, reporting to Chris Wilkinson, Head of Specialty.
Tongue will head the established team and play a pivotal role in shaping IQUW’s enhanced product offering in this space. The team’s primary focus will be on credit risks, complemented by traditional political risk coverages, globally.
A key component of the offering includes sovereign non-payment risk alongside the introduction of derivatives and swaps as specialised solutions designed to help clients manage financial exposures and volatility in uncertain markets, explained IQUW.
Tongue has almost 15 years of experience in underwriting in the segment, he most recently served as the Deputy Head of Credit and Political Risk at Canopius Group in London.
Earlier in his career, he held senior underwriting roles at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, AXA Africa Specialty Risks, and CNA Hardy, where he gained broad expertise in Political Risks, Trade Credit, and related fields.
