SCOR names Vikas Mahajan as Head of Agriculture as René Kunz retires

French reinsurer SCOR has appointed Vikas Mahajan as the Head of Agriculture for its Property & Casualty (P&C) unit, effective May 1st, 2025, as René Kunz’s retires after two decades in the role.

Mahajan will be based in Zurich and join the Reinsurance Specialty Lines management team, reporting directly to the Head of Specialty Lines, Eric Jenck.

Mahajan has over two decades of international experience in the reinsurance industry, holding several key positions as a treaty and specialty lines underwriter and broker, demonstrating a track record in portfolio and team management.

Mahajan joined SCOR in Singapore in 2019 as a Senior Underwriter, responsible for developing and managing the P&C Treaty book for Singapore and parts of South Asia.

In 2023, he transferred to Cologne as a member of the Nordics team. Before his tenure at SCOR, Mahajan held significant roles at J B Boda & Co, Swiss Re, and GIC Re.

Kunz will remain at SCOR until July to ensure a smooth transition. He joined SCOR P&C as Chief Underwriting Officer for Agriculture in 2006, having spent nearly five years as Deputy Head of Agriculture at GE Insurance Solutions. He led the agriculture team and was instrumental in developing its portfolio and building a highly respected team of experts serving clients globally.
