Sompo adds three new members to its APAC Commercial Lines team

Sompo Asia Pacific has announced the appointment of Kelly Koh, Victoria Soo and Szeto Ophelia to its Asia Pacific (APAC) Commercial Lines team.

“They will be instrumental in driving their respective lines of business across the region with their extensive expertise,” Sompo stated.

Kelly Koh has been appointed Vice President, Financial Institutions Senior Underwriter, Financial Lines APAC.

Joining from QBE Insurance, Koh brings close to two decades of industry experience to Sompo, along with deep Financial Lines knowledge and expertise.

In her new role, she will be focusing on Financial Institutions risk and will play a pivotal role in shaping Sompo’s Financial Institutions offerings moving forward, the firm stated.

Soo, who has been appointed Senior Underwriter, Political and Financial Risk, APAC, is joining Sompo from SMBC, where she most recently served as Vice President.

The executive has a wealth of experience through the credit insurance market and will contribute to driving the firm’s Commercial Lines business in APAC, Sompo highlighted.

Szeto has been appointed Vice President, Property Senior Underwriter APAC, a Hong Kong-based role.

The executive brings with her four decades of re/insurance experience in Property across Retail and Wholesale space in APAC. She is joining Sompo from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where she most recently served as VP, Head of Commercial Property, Asia.
