Marsh expands in Italy with FRT acquisition

Insurance broker Marsh has acquired Fontana Rava-Toscano & Partners (FRT), a Milan-based insurance brokerage, as part of its growth strategy in Italy. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

FRT, a property and casualty insurance broker and risk consulting firm, was established in 1992 by the current partners and Giancarlo Fontana Rava.

The company has a long history of serving middle-market organizations, many of which are international, in key sectors such as industrial and manufacturing, financial institutions, and aviation. FRT also specialises in employee benefits and financial risks.

FRT will now operate as Marsh FRT. Its partners – Stefano Toscano, Paolo Vigo, Edoardo Poss, and Nicolò Fontana Rava – will focus on expanding clients’ ambitions in the middle market through collaborating with Marsh McLennan’s other businesses – Guy Carpenter, Mercer, and Oliver Wyman.
