Everest appoints Aon’s Giacomo Mariani to lead Insurance business in Italy

Global reinsurance and insurance firm Everest has announced the appointment of Giacomo Mariani to lead its Insurance business in Italy, following the opening of its Milan office in November 2024.

In his new role, Mariani will report to José Ramón Morales, Head of Southern Europe at Everest Insurance International.

Mariani brings extensive insurance industry experience to his new position, having held senior leadership and broker management roles at prominent global insurance organisations.

He joins Everest from Aon, where he most recently served as Deputy Head of the Strategic Team, leading and managing broking for high-profile Italian corporate and public entity clients.

Mariani also served as a Board Member for Global Safe Insurance Broker and previously held the position of Head of Large Brokers and Direct Clients at Zurich, where he oversaw the company’s global broker relationships.

José Ramón Morales expressed enthusiasm for Mariani’s appointment, stating, “Giacomo’s proven leadership, strong relationships, and deep understanding of the Italian market will be instrumental to enhancing our insurance operations in Italy.
