Arch Insurance appoints Cobeta & Fernandez to senior casualty roles

Arch Insurance, a division of Bermuda-based re/insurer Arch Capital Group, has announced the appointments of Carmen Cobeta as Head of Casualty, Spain, and Irene Fernandez Franic as Senior Casualty Underwriter.

Based in Madrid, both Cobeta and Fernandez will be responsible for expanding Arch’s casualty portfolio in Spain and Portugal, focusing on primary, umbrella, and excess liability coverage across various sectors, including industrial, manufacturing, and rail.

Cobeta brings over two decades of casualty experience to her new role. She joins Arch Insurance from QBE Europe, where she most recently served as Regional Broker Relationship Manager.

Prior to that, she held roles as Liability Portfolio Manager and Senior Casualty Underwriter at QBE Europe, as well as underwriting positions at Chubb.

Franic has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance market. She joins from Howden, where she was most recently Head of International Construction.

Franic has also held broking and underwriting roles at Aon, Generali, and QBE Europe.
