Volt Underwriting, a newly established Managing General Agent (MGA) focused on providing support to clients involved in the energy transition sector, has announced the appointment of Chris Haines to lead its expansion into the Ports, Terminals, and Logistics space.
Haines, a seasoned expert with over 12 years of experience in underwriting this sector, joins Volt from AIG, where he most recently served as the Head of Ports and Terminals (P&T) for their London office. Prior to AIG, he was the Class Underwriter for Ports and Terminals at Skuld.
“Volt was founded on our vision of building an underwriting agency that offers multiple products to support clients in the Energy sector and its immediate supply chain,” said Volt Chief Executive Officer Chris Allison.
“Ports and Terminals was always on our road map of new products, and we are delighted to get someone of Chris’ calibre into Volt. This continues our strategy of bringing in best-in-class underwriters with specialist expertise.”
Haines said: “It’s great to be joining Volt. The team are highly regarded and have already made a big impact. I am looking forward to working with them to build out our P&T practice, to give our brokers a quality service, and delivering the coverage our clients need.”
