QBE Asia appoints Chie Yamamura as Head of Japan Desk

QBE Asia strengthens its facultative reinsurance (Wholesale) business across Asia with the appointment of Chie Yamamura as Head of Japan Desk, effective April 1st, 2025.
Based in Singapore, Yamamura will lead QBE’s Japan Facultative strategy, drive business development, and strengthen partnerships with brokers and cedants in Japan and across Asia. She will collaborate with experienced underwriters to expand QBE’s wholesale proposition.
Yamamura brings nearly three decades of experience in non-life and facultative reinsurance across Japan, Singapore, and London.
She joins QBE from Guy Carpenter, where she has worked since 2003, most recently as Senior Vice President, Casualty Fac / Regional Casualty Leader.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Ronak Shah, CEO of Wholesale Markets Asia and CEO of QBE Singapore, said, “Her appointment reflects QBE Insurance’s commitment to delivering specialised solutions and reinforcing our presence in key markets.
“I look forward to introducing Chie to our valued partners and working together to drive sustainable growth.”
