Arch Insurance International promotes Marie Penberthy to CFO

Arch Insurance International, part of Bermuda-based re/insurer Arch Capital Group Ltd., has promoted Marie Penberthy to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), subject to regulatory approval.

Penberthy will be based in London, reporting to Hugh Sturgess, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arch Insurance International.

Her appointment aligns with Arch’s succession planning strategy and follows the departure of Jason Kittinger from the role.

As CFO, Penberthy will be responsible for the finance function, encompassing accounting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

She has held several senior financial roles in the industry over her 22-year career.

Penberthy joined Arch Insurance (UK) Ltd. in 2022 as a Financial Controller, she became CFO of the UK operations in December 2023. Previously, she was Corporate Financial Controller at Talbot Underwriting.

Sturgess commented: “Marie is a valuable addition to our executive team with a firm understanding of our finance function and a vision for further modernisation building on previous successful projects and performance enhancements. She has the support of a very skilled team behind her, I welcome Marie to this role.”
