Guy Carpenter appoints Lisa Tolaini as General Counsel

Lisa Tolaini has been appointed General Counsel of Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broking division of Marsh McLennan (MMC).

Based in London, Tolaini has been with Marsh McLennan for over 13 years, having most recently served as General Counsel, UK and International, a role she held from March 2023 until August 2024.

Prior to that, she served as Associate General Counsel at Mercer, a key division of Marsh McLennan. During her time serving in this role, Tolaini held responsibility for all legal support across the UK and Europe, as well as also serving as a member of the UK and European leadership teams. She served in this role between July 2018 – March 2023.

Additionally, Tolaini also previously served as Chief Legal Counsel, UK, and Chief Litigation Counsel, Europe, both of which were at Mercer.

In related news, Guy Carpenter recently appointed Justin Ward as Managing Director, Head of Capital Advisory for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Ward has been with the firm for six years, joining in 2018 as Head of Life & Capital for the Pacific Region.

In the second quarter of 2024, Guy Carpenter generated revenue of $632 million, an increase of 10%, or 11% on an underlying basis, contributing to another strong quarter for one of the world’s largest re/insurance brokers.
