Lara Mowery to join Gallagher Re from Guy Carpenter

Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has confirmed that Guy Carpenter’s Global Head of Distribution, Lara Mowery, is joining the firm in a senior role.

Mowery joined Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broking arm of Marsh McLennan, in 1997 to lead the firm’s global property reinsurance business.

Most recently, she worked as Guy Carpenter’s Global Head of Distribution and has served on the reinsurance broker’s Executive Committee since her appointment to this role in August 2020.

In this role, Mowery had oversight of the company’s global placement and distribution strategy.

But after almost 27 years with Guy Carpenter, Mowery is joining rival reinsurance broker Gallagher Re. It’s currently unclear what role Mowery will assume at Gallagher Re, but we understand that it’s expected to be similarly senior.

Taking over from Mowery at Guy Carpenter is Jenn Paretchan, who most recently served as Managing Director and Deputy Leader of Centers of Excellence and Client Experience.

Paretchan has been with the broker for over 24 years, and has been promoted to Global Head of Distribution and Market Relations at Guy Carpenter.
