Aon expands EMEA Transportation and Logistics team with key appointments

Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Aon has announced three senior appointments to strengthen its EMEA Transportation and Logistics team.

Jan Steven Kelder has been named Industry Specialty Leader, Transportation and Logistics, EMEA. In this role, he will report to Luca Tassarotti, Head of Commercial Risk for EMEA, and Lee Meyrick, Global Specialty Leader for Transportation and Logistics.

Kelder has been with Aon for nearly 13 years, starting as a Senior Broker Marine in 2011. Most recently, he served as Specialty Practice Leader, Transportation & Logistics – Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Meyrick expressed enthusiasm for Kelder’s appointment, stating, “Over the past 12 years, Jan Steven has made a significant contribution to Aon Global Marine and Asia Pacific. His leadership, technical knowledge and excellent client and carrier relationships will be of great value for the EMEA region.”

Rutger Van der Hoeven has been appointed Head of Growth for Transportation and Logistics and Head of Commodity Trade, EMEA. He will report to Kelder and Jochem Kort, Chief Broking Officer for Aon in the Netherlands.

Van der Hoeven has been with Aon for over eight years and currently leads its Marine and Specialty teams in the Netherlands, where he will continue to oversee these areas.

Tomas Winje has been named Head of Cargo & Logistics for EMEA, reporting to Kelder.

Winje was previously a Client Partner at Aon for nearly three years and worked at AIG for about a decade, most recently as Head of Marine for the Nordics.

Tassarotti commented, “The career progression of these colleagues reflects both our confidence in their capabilities and Aon’s ambitions for this priority industry segment.”
