Aon’s Aurori joins Ascot’s U.S. Excess Casualty team as VP, Northeast Region

Ascot, the Bermuda-based global specialty insurance company, has announced that Derek Aurori has joined the company’s U.S. Excess Casualty team, taking on the role of Vice President for the Northeast region.

Based in New York, Aurori joins the firm following a near 10-year tenure at global re/insurance group Aon.

During his time at Aon, Aurori served in a variety of different roles. He joined the firm in 2015 as an associate broker, and then went on to become a broker in 2017.

Fast forward to 2018, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President, and then later went on to become Vice President in May 2023, where he would hold this role until August 2024.

In a statement, Ascot said: “With a decade of experience in the insurance industry and extensive product expertise, Derek is a valuable addition to our team led by Erin Osborne.

“Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Derek as he begins his journey with Ascot U.S.”

If you recall, Erin Osborne was appointed to the role of Head of U.S. Excess Casualty in May.

In related news, Ascot appointed Michael Sevi to the role of Ascot Group General Counsel, in June.
