Beazley appoints Swiss Re’s Chris Merl as Country Manager, DACH

Specialist insurer Beazley has announced the appointment of Christopher (Chris) Merl as Country Manager for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).

In addition to this role, Merl will also serve as Head Partner Engagement, DACH. Based in Munich, he will focus on driving Beazley’s European strategy, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining robust relationships with clients and brokers.

Fred Kleiterp, Managing Director for Europe at Beazley, commented, “As the risk landscape in Europe becomes increasingly complex, the need for leading, on the ground expertise grows. The creation of the Country Manager role reflects our commitment to responding to this demand, providing best in class services to our broker partners and clients.

Merl joins Beazley after 16 years at Swiss Re, where he held various senior positions, most recently serving as Senior Distribution Manager.
