CFC promotes Philippa Berry to Head of Portfolio Partnerships

CFC, an insurance provider specialising in emerging risks and cyber coverage, has announced the promotion of Philippa Berry to the newly created role of Head of Portfolio Partnerships.

In this role, Berry will manage reinsurance for CFC’s cyber business and oversee relationships with key stakeholders, including capacity providers. Additionally, she will lead the global development of CFC’s new white-label cyber proposition.

Andy Holmes, CEO at CFC, commented, “It’s no secret that cyber penetration rates outside the US remain low. While that is changing, it’s not changing fast enough and we believe that the industry needs to seize the initiative to bring proactive cyber solutions to markets around the world.

“We believe there is tremendous potential to increase uptake of standalone cyber in markets where it is underpenetrated by working with existing insurance companies already in those markets. Philippa has huge knowledge of and experience in the global cyber market and is perfectly positioned to drive the development of this new proposition for our business.”

Berry joined CFC’s cyber team in 2018 as a Corporate Cyber Underwriter and most recently served as Cyber Product Leader. Throughout her tenure, she has played a pivotal role in expanding CFC’s cyber product offerings, particularly in the large corporate market.

Previously, she worked at Aspen Insurance Group for nearly three years, most recently as an Underwriter, and was also an Account Executive at Howden Insurance Brokers.

Berry stated, “CFC has long been a cyber trailblazer from building what is now the largest in-house cyber security and incident response team in the market to being the first to develop a truly proactive cyber proposition for policyholders.”

She added, “We are now looking to take our expertise into emerging markets and partner with established insurers who have local experience and brand presence, and a mutual ambition to grow the cyber market in their respective countries.”
