Jan Tinus Larsen named as new CEO of Howden Norway

Howden, the insurance intermediary group, has announced the appointment of Jan Tinus Larsen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Howden Norway, effective October 1, 2024.

Larsen, who has been Deputy CEO since 2018, will succeed Anders Kvan, ensuring a smooth transition for both employees and clients.

Kvan, a founding member of Howden’s operations in Norway and its CEO since 2006, will continue to serve on the board of Howden Norway, focusing on key clients and developing new business areas, including Marine & Energy.

He commented: “Leading the company from its inception and growing it into a thriving business with over 80 employees has been a fantastic journey.

“I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together. The time has come to pass the leadership baton, and I am confident that Jan Tinus, who has been instrumental in our success, is well-prepared to take the company forward.”

Since joining Howden Norway in 2018, Larsen has played an essential role in the company’s growth as Deputy CEO. He began his career as a lawyer at If P&C Insurance and has held several senior positions in the insurance industry, most recently as Managing Director at W.R. Berkley Insurance Nordic, where he contributed significantly to strategic and operational leadership.
