Aspen’s Christian Dunleavy named Chair of ABIC

The Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) has announced the appointment of Christian Dunleavy as its new Chair, succeeding Patrick Tannock.

ABIC represents the internationally owned businesses that are based in Bermuda but operate globally. There are over 1,500 exempted or international companies registered in Bermuda, with around 400 maintaining a physical presence.

Dunleavy brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role. He has been with Aspen for nine years in various senior roles and is currently Group President and CEO of Aspen Bermuda Limited.

He is also a Director of the Association of Bermuda International Companies and the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers, as well as an Independent Director of CG Coralisle Group.

His previous experience includes five years with The Government of Bermuda, over 13 years with Axis Capital, and four years at Ren Re.

Commenting on his appointment, Dunleavy stated, “I am honoured to chair ABIC at such an important time for Bermuda’s international business sector. The ABIC board and membership will continue to advocate for sensible approaches that protect and enhance Bermuda’s competitiveness and reputation in an era of heightened global competition.”

He added, “Our international businesses provide opportunities and rewarding careers across many fields and industries, and we at ABIC intend to ensure that Bermudians continue to benefit from these direct and indirect economic and social contributions. I would like to thank Patrick for his contribution to ABIC over a defining decade for insurance and Bermuda as an international business centre.”
