MGA Pivix launched by E&S insurance veteran Mike Miller

Pivix Specialty Insurance Services Inc. (Pivix), a managing general agency with a particular focus on the Excess and Surplus (E&S) lines market, has officially launched its operations.

Pivix is an E&S platform that offers property and casualty coverages for targeted segments.

The company was founded by a team of experienced E&S veterans, which includes former Scottsdale Insurance President Mike Miller, who serves as Pivix’s Chief Executive Officer and President.

Miller has also started up a number of other organisations throughout his career in the industry.

Pivix was also founded by Ken Levine, Joe Griffith, and Sandy Vertuno.

From what we understand, Pivix’s management team, all of whom are alumni of Nationwide, bring proven underwriting expertise in Pivix’s targeted lines of business, as well as a strong network of wholesale brokers.

Levine, who serves as Pivix’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary, joined Nationwide’s executive team as Chief Actuary of Scottsdale and went on to serve as CFO of several Nationwide specialty P&C companies.

While Griffith, who serves as Pivix’s Chief Information Officer, spent 22 years working in various technology roles at Nationwide and Ategrity.

Lastly, Vertuno spent more than three decades working at Nationwide, where she went on to serve as Senior Director of Contract Binding before becoming Chief Underwriting Officer at Ategrity. At Pivix she will serve as the company’s Chief Underwriting Officer, Contract Binding.
