Thomas Russell named Head of ANZ Wholesale for Price Forbes Asia

Global specialty broker Price Forbes has appointed Thomas Russell to the newly created role of Director, Head of Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) Wholesale for Price Forbes Asia.

Based in Singapore, Russell will be reporting to Phil Johnson, CEO of Price Forbes Asia Pacific (APAC), who commented: “Australia and New Zealand are key territories for Price Forbes. We’ve already got an extremely strong network of brokers and MGAs we serve from London.

“Adding strong ANZ placement capabilities to service clients ‘in time zone’ and provide access to the Singaporean market for those clients was an obvious priority for us. Tom’s appointment is a vital part of delivering on this ambition and we look forward to building out the team to make the most of the fantastic opportunities in the region.”

Russell, who has over a decade of experience placing challenged Australian and New Zealand risks, across property, casualty, and financial lines, is joining Price Forbes from Honan Insurance Group.

He most recently served as the Head of Honan’s Wholesale and Reinsurance division, Green Bird Reinsurance Company. Russell moved to Singapore in early 2022, following nearly five years with Honan in Sydney, Australia, managing complex corporate clients.

Before Honan, the executive spent a five year tenure with Marsh in Australia, where he held a number of roles since joining the company in 2012.
