Hannover Re hires Blake Dimitrijevic from Guy Carpenter as MD of Australian branch

Large European reinsurer Hannover Re has appointed Blake Dimitrijevic, formerly of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, as the new Managing Director (MD) of its Australian branch.

Dimitrijevic joins the firm after a little over a year with Guy Carpenter, who he joined in September 2023 from Swiss Re as Managing Director, Head of Capital Advisory APAC.

He worked at Swiss Re for more than 17 years, first as a Senior Financial Analyst, Europe Division, based in London, before four years as a Senior Financial Reporting Manager, Finance EMEA.

In 2010, Dimitrijevic moved to Zurich and held the role of Vice President, Group Capital Management, Treasury, and went on to spend almost nine years based in Hong Kong, ultimately serving as Swiss Re’s Managing Director, Head of Property & Casualty Business Management, Asia.

“With years of experience in leadership, Blake brings a wealth of expertise across group, regional, and business unit levels, excelling in both client-facing and enabling functions,” said Hannover Re.

“Throughout his career, Blake has consistently shown the ability to connect strategic vision with practical execution emphasizing collaboration and continuous improvement,” the company added.
