Ahmed Al-Jabr becomes Saudi Re CEO

Saudi Reinsurance Company has announced the appointment of Ahmed Al-Jabr as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, taking over the role from Fahad Al-Hesni.

Al-Jabr has 25 years of diverse experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, having served in various executive roles in operations, strategy management, business development and others throughout his career.

Prior to his new appointment, he had been serving as Acting CEO since March this year.

The executive has been with Saudi Re since 2011. Previously held the position of Deputy CEO following his tenure as Chief Operations Officer.

Al-Jabr has also held various leadership roles in firms such as NCB Capital, Gulf International Bank, Al Jabr Holding, Asharqia Chamber, Ajzal Capital, and Fikrah, prior to joining Saudi Re.

A Saudi Re spokesperson has previously commented: “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Fahad Al-Hesni, the former MD/CEO, for his tremendous contributions during his tenure with the company, and we wish him the best of luck in his future ventures.”

Al-Jabr comes as the company works towards its Strategy Towards 2028, which aims to reinforce its competitive position and sustain its profitable growth momentum domestically and internationally.

In the first half of the current year, Saudi Re grew by 19% having reported gross written premiums of SAR 1.4 billion.
