Wallace to lead Munich Re Specialty, North America’s Binding Authorities as CUO

Munich Re Specialty – North America, part of the global reinsurance giant Munich Re Group, has appointed Tom Wallace as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for the Binding Authorities business.

In his new role, Wallace will be based in London with a reporting line to Nick Ash, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Binding Authorities business.

Wallace will also be fully responsible for the entire Binding Authorities underwriting portfolio, leading overall strategy and business growth through Munich Re Specialty–North America’s delegated business and in-house underwriting.

The executive is an industry veteran with over two decades of underwriting and broking experience in both the UK and US markets.

Prior to joining Munich Re Specialty, Wallace served as Head of Capacity Portfolio Management for AMWINS Global Risks.

He joined AMWINS from Adeptive LLP, an MGU start-up specialty insurance platform based in London. Before that, Wallace held leadership and underwriting roles with WCNC Insurance Services and Tokio Marine Kiln.
