Arch Insurance appoints Tyler Bair as President of Ventus Risk Management

Arch Insurance North America, part of Arch Capital Group Ltd., has announced the appointment of Tyler Bair as the new President of Ventus Risk Management (Ventus), a wholly-owned managing general underwriter (MGU).

In this role, Bair will lead the company’s growth, oversee daily operations, and strengthen relationships with brokers and carrier partners.

He succeeds Richard Goldfarb, who served as President for the past five years. Goldfarb will remain with the team as Head of Strategy.

Matt Shulman, CEO of Arch Insurance North America, expressed enthusiasm for Bair’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to have Tyler rejoin Ventus and are confident he is the right leader to propel the platform into its next stage of growth.

“Ventus is an important facet of Arch’s overall property strategy, a trusted MGU for its capacity providers and a respected partner for its producing brokers. Tyler’s strong expertise in this area and meaningful relationships make him the perfect fit for this role.”

Shulman also thanked Goldfarb for his leadership, adding, “I want to express our thanks to Richard for the important role he has played since our acquisition of Ventus in 2019. We are looking forward to his continued contributions to future growth.”

Bair joins Ventus from Amwins, where he was Senior Vice President – Amwins Underwriting. Before that, he worked at Amwins Global Risks, most recently serving as Strategy Director.

Prior to his tenure at Amwins, he served as Vice President at Ventus for three years. He previously held roles at Sompo International and Zurich North America.
