HDI US expands executive leadership team with Syed appointment as CITO

HDI Global Insurance Company, the US subsidiary of international commercial insurer, HDI Global SE (HDI) has announced the appointment of Kashif Syed as Chief Information and Transformation Officer (CITO), a newly developed role.

Kashif has been tasked with leading the strategy and direction of HDI’s business transformation US technology operations, infrastructure, application development and cyber security.

He will also collaborate with HDI’s global and local leadership towards steering, driving, and delivering on strategic objectives.

The executive will be based out of the company’s US headquarters in Chicago, IL and will report into Jim Clark, Chief Executive Officer, HDI Global Insurance Company, who commented: “Kashif is a proven leader who brings more than 25 years of business and IT insurance consulting experience in the P&C insurance sector.

“He has helped organisations transform operating models across the insurance value chain, including a focus in the underwriting, claims and premium finance functions. I am confident that Kashif will help transform our business including the advancement of our IT landscape and position our US operations for future success.”

Syed joins HDI from Synpulse USA, where he most recently served as Associate Partner. In this role he led and supported client delivery, practice management, and sales activities across the Americas insurance practice.

Prior to that, he served as Head of Insurance – Americas at TAZI AI Systems, and VP, Business Architecture at Kemper before his tenure as Head of Business Transformation – North America at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS).

His career has also seen him hold roles at Cognizant Technology Solutions, CNA Insurance, Zurich Financial Services, State Farm Insurance, KPMG and others.
