Markel strengthens cyber team with Eastwood hire as Senior Underwriter

Markel, the insurance division of Markel Group Inc., has appointed Jack Eastwood as Senior Underwriter, Cyber, effective immediately.

Eastwood will be based at Markel’s London office and report directly to Dan Fox, Head of Cyber for Markel. As a senior underwriting leader of Markel’s Cyber & Technology team, he will work closely with the cyber leadership colleagues to develop and drive the cyber underwriting strategy and will be involved in all aspects of the portfolio.

This appointment will further strengthen Markel’s underwriting services and capabilities to effectively serve broker partners and end clients, the firm noted.

Prior to Markel, Eastwood spent more than 13 years at AIG, starting out as a financial lines underwriter specialising in professional liability and cyber risk before progressing to the role of Team Leader of Cyber & Technology at the firm.

Before this position, he served as a broker at Griffiths & Armour for more than four years.
