Khilosia joins Africa Specialty Risks as Chief Distribution Officer

Africa Specialty Risks (ASR), a pan-African and Middle East focused re/insurance group, has announced the appointment of Amit Khilosia as Chief Distribution Officer, an UK-based role.

In his new role, Khilosia will lead ASR’s distribution efforts ensuring the company continues to expand its footprint across Africa and the Middle East, delivering tailored risk solutions and bolstering client engagement.

He will also collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to propel ASR’s distribution strategy forward, fostering strategic partnerships, expanding market access, and supporting the company’s long-term growth objectives in both regions.

With over 35 years’ experience at Lloyd’s, Khilosia brings a wealth of expertise in re/insurance market development and stakeholder engagement strategies across Africa.

Prior to joining ASR, Khilosia held the position of Regional Lloyd’s Head for Africa and Chairman of Lloyd’s South Africa, a role he was appointed to following his time as Lloyd’s Regional Manager for Africa.

During his time at Lloyd’s, which started in 1989, he also held a number of roles in Finance, Regulatory and Market Development.

Notable achievements included negotiating and broadening Lloyd’s market access strategies across Africa, and leading the deployment of Lloyd’s South Africa Ltd, where he served as Managing Director.
