New MGA Volt Underwriting deploys Quotech’s underwriting workbench & Quex platform

Quotech, a developer of integrated technology solutions for underwriting and broking teams, has supplied systems to Volt Underwriting, a new energy-focussed managing general agent (MGA) launched earlier today.

From what Reinsurance News understands, Volt has deployed Quotech’s underwriting workbench, Risque, and its exposure management platform, Quex, which was launched in February this year. 

Volt Underwriting has been launched to support clients active in the energy transition sector, with initial capacity of $25 million for US and international onshore power and renewable energy risks.

The MGA was co-founded by renowned industry underwriters, Chris Allison, Chief Executive Officer; Andrew Tokley, Chief Underwriting Officer; and MGA management specialist Kevin Cleary, Chief Operating Officer, and is backed by B.P. Marsh.

Volt Underwriting Chief Operating Officer Kevin Cleary, commented: “You can just tell that Quotech’s systems were built by people who have a first-hand knowledge of the underwriting process in London.
